The basic principle of a scanner is to analyze and create a snapshot image and then save it as a computer file. If you require text there is a second process that is called OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which can take the picture of text and convert it to actual text characters. After you have converted your scanned document to text, you can use translation software to translate the document.
